Donald Trump: ‘I Don’t Give a Damn’ About Headlines on Gas Prices

At a rally in Georgia, Donald Trump said higher oil and gas prices were helping U.S. energy companies make more money. He boasted that the United States is making a "fortune."
Trump said his advisers warned him that talking about those profits could upset Americans who are paying more for gas.
He said he expected negative headlines but added, “I don’t give a damn.” He argued that the profits were making the country stronger.
Regular gas has risen from $2.98 a gallon before the U.S. war with Iran to $4.29. Diesel has reached $6.35 a gallon.
Many Americans are already struggling to afford groceries, housing, and other everyday needs. Higher gas prices add to that pressure, especially for people who drive to work or take their children to school. Paying more at the pump leaves families with less money for other essentials.
